Our programs involve different kinds of local community involvement (e.g.: talented children in a home care shelter, local artisans, craftspeople, art students, human rights organization, and sexual minorities). We have also involved in outreach to human rights organizations, HIV/AIDS organizations, and others. We also support the local art community.

This is an alternative space for critical inquiry and open-ended exploration. It supports artists beyond the academic structure and lends the gallery for debuts of emerging young talent.

Apart from visual artists, writers, poets, and performance artists have availed this space for creative and interactive endeavors. For example: Eric Weiner ("The Geography of Bliss", published by Twelve Books) and Elizabeth Chakkappan.

We have also supported innovative events such as artists' kitchen and artist critiques for young art students.

Visual Art Collective is critically engaged in a dialogue that will lead to a multi-dimensional collaborative project on the city of Bangalore. The artists Shanthamani, Archana Hannde, Lalitha Shankar, and Suresh Jayaram are involved in a research and documentation project mapping the city's culture, history, and fragile future. We will focus on migration, food, architecture, occupations, narrations, green spaces, communities, and other aspects.

Visual Arts Collective is proud to collaborate with Bangalore Artists Centre and Saali Gudi on art events.
