Suresh Jayaram

Suresh Jayaram is a visual artist and art historian from Bangalore.

He has a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the College of Fine Arts, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore (1990).

For his M.A. dissertation on K.K. Hebbar, he received the Nehru Small Study Grant.

He obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree from M.S. University, Baroda in 1992 in Art Criticism.

He taught Art History at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath since then.

He has exhibited his work individually and in group shows in India at Sakshi Gallery,Sumukha,Crimson art resource in Bangalore.

In the India Habitat center New Delhi, Apparao Gallery- Chennai, The Guild Gallery- Mumbai.

He has also curated shows on Indian contemporary art.

He was also Artist-in-Residence at the Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut (USA) in 1998.

He delivered an invited lecture at the Total Museum, Seoul, South Korea in 2003.

In 2004, the British Council selected him for the Charles Wallace India Trust award to work at the Gasworks Studios, London.

His writings have appeared in publications such as Art India , Marg , Nandan , Lalithkala Comtemporary , and others.

He has also written many catalogs for contemporary artists. He was also a member of the Karnataka Lalithkala Academy during 2002-2004.
